I love to learn! That is the driving force in almost everything I do. That also means I’m sometimes all over the place in my quest to learn something new. Formally, I have a Bachelor’s of Fine Art and a Master’s of City and Regional Planning. Informally, I’ve taken classes in everything from home arts to leadership training.
Although I was born and raised in North Carolina, I moved to Texas after college. My husband and I have (almost) raised all three of our children there for the past 20 years. We just recently moved back to the east coast to northern Virginia. My primary role has been homemaker, with flexible jobs here and there. Art has been the constant during that time. I have created and taught in a variety of settings. I’ve taught 2 year olds and 80 years old, and learned as much from them as they do from me.
I’m moving into a different phase of life as a new grandmother and one child away from being an empty nester. While my youngest keeps me busy with her active high school schedule, I still find time to create art, teach classes, read, garden, cook, volunteer, cycle and practice archery with my husband…although none of that ever happens on the same day!!!
